Congratulations to Associate Professor Angus Turner, McCusker Director of Lions Outback Vision, who was named winner of the Digital Health Technology Award in the 2023 Health and Medical Research Awards. The award recognises Australian innovators at the forefront of digital health technologies.

Associate Professor Turner partnered with Google to use artificial intelligence tools to detect eye disease in remote Western Australia. He was recognised for his groundbreaking work and its implications to dramatically shift health outcomes for vulnerable populations.
