Lions Outback Vision recently developed a new educational video designed for diabetic Indigenous Australians titled ‘ Bad Sugars, Bad Eyes’.
This resource has been developed in the form of a short animated video clip which aims to highlight key patient information about diabetes and its effects on the eye as well as the importance of, and justification for annual eye screening in order to increase awareness in the Indigenous Australian community.
The video is also freely available through Lions Outback Vision for all clinics and health practitioners seeking to utilise it in their regular practice.
The ‘Bad Sugars Bad Eyes’ video was awarded first prize at the 2012 Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologist Annual Scientific Congress Film Festival.
